One of the world’s most mysterious countries is also one of the most fascinating. Turkmenistan is home to many quirky statues in the all-white city of Ashgabat, once known for its bizarre rules. Out of the capital you have the famous Darvaza gas crater, a fire pit that’s been burning since the 1970s in the middle of the desert. Turkmenistan is unusual yet very interesting.
